At Off the Grid Studios, we’re honored to collaborate with some truly remarkable partners on a project that intertwines art, nature, and conservation in a way that’s never been done before. We’ve teamed up with Breedlove Guitars, Jeff Bridges, Rick Bass, and a talented lineup of artists to help tell the powerful story of the Black Ram Guitar—a story about one guitar’s journey to help save an ancient forest.

The Black Ram Guitar is more than just an instrument; it’s a symbol of the urgent need to protect old-growth forests, specifically the Black Ram forest in Montana’s Yaak Valley. This forest is under threat from logging, and its protection is critical for maintaining the ecosystem, including endangered wildlife like the grizzly bear. Through this documentary, we hope to bring attention to the fight for conservation, while showcasing the incredible artistry behind Breedlove’s creation of a guitar crafted from a 315-year-old wind-felled spruce tree in the same forest.

A Partnership for Change

With the leadership of Jeff Bridges, a long-time advocate for the environment, and Rick Bass, an author and environmental activist, we’re creating a documentary that shines a spotlight on the intersection of art and advocacy. Their passion for protecting our natural world, combined with the artistry of Breedlove Guitars, gives this film a unique and compelling narrative. The guitar itself was crafted as part of Breedlove’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing, and it now stands as a symbol of the fight to preserve some of the world’s most fragile ecosystems.

More Than a Film

This project goes beyond the documentary. At its heart, it’s a call to action—an invitation to re-imagine how we approach conservation and what we can achieve when we bring together creative minds from different disciplines. From music to filmmaking, writing to craftsmanship, this collaboration serves as a reminder that art can be a powerful tool for change.

The short preview of the film was featured at the Black Ram Guitar Fest, a celebration of music, artistry, and environmental stewardship, alongside global film festivals. We’re excited to be part of this journey, and we look forward to sharing this story with audiences worldwide, sparking a conversation about what it means to protect our planet.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this incredible project and work to protect the Black Ram forest for generations to come.
