Miles Nolte has been a leading voice shaping fishing media for the past two decades. Miles started as a freelance writer and fishing guide in his 20s, when he had regular bylines in industry leading magazines like The Drake, American Angler, The Fly Fish Journal, Fly Rod and Reel, and others. He published a critically acclaimed book, The Alaska Chronicles, about one of his seasons of guiding in remote Bristol Bay. In 2012, he took over as Angling Editor at Gray’s Sporting Journal. In 2015, he became the lead writer at Tributaries Digital Cinema where he wrote and helped produce award-winning fly fishing films. In 2019, Miles built and led the MeatEater Fishing Department. He created, wrote, and produced the fishing television series Das Boat, and Fur Hat Ice Tour; co-created and co-hosted the Bent podcast; and oversaw branding, strategy, implementation, content creation, metrics, and personnel management for the entire department. Miles brings a wealth of creative experience. a deep knowledge of outdoor industry media and branding, and a track record of success to the Off the Grid team.
